Ian Yolles
Ian has extensive entrepreneurial and executive level leadership experience managing brand building and marketing activities for some of the worlds most influential consumer product companies. He is an acknowledged thought leader and has direct experience building and stewarding highly successful brands that have defined and differentiated themselves based on their strong commitment to sustainability.
Ian was the Executive Director for Outward Bound where he transformed a fledgling start-up operation into a respected, high-profile organization that serves diverse communities. Ian then served as the Director of Marketing and a member of the executive leadership team at Patagonia. Then, at Nike, Ian held the roles of Director of Apparel Marketing, Director of Digital Marketing, and Director of Brand Marketing. Most recently Ian was co-founder and Vice President of Marketing of Nau, an innovative retail-direct, outdoor lifestyle apparel company.
A frequent speaker on branding and sustainability, Ian has delivered talks at numerous high profile events including Advertising Age’s Idea Conference, the Retail Advertising and Marketing Associations RAC Conference, Sustainable Brands Conference, Good and Green Marketing Conference, Sustainovate and Net Impact.
Dr. Cristiano Facanha
Dr. Facanha is a recognized leader in the analysis and accounting of transportation emissions. While finishing his Doctorate in Civil and Environmental Engineering at UC Berkley, Dr. Facanha was the co-author of Life-Cycle Emissions of Freight Transportation, a pivotal work in the field of freight emissions.
Dr. Facanha held positions at American President Lines and Emery Worldwide, where he was responsible for the development and implementation of logistics solutions (warehousing and transportation programs) in the U.S., Mexico, Brazil, and China. Currently, Dr. Facanha currently holds the position of Technical Specialist for ICF International, an energy and environmental consulting firm, where he focuses on traffic and mobile source emissions modeling. Dr. Facanha has evaluated emissions models to better quantify emissions from transportation, and has completed numerous evaluations of transportation emissions at the national, regional, and local/project levels. Dr. Facanha has been responsible for the development of operational and technological strategies to prevent and mitigate environmental impacts of transportation.
Dr. Facanha's work is the basis for the GreenShipping carbon calculator. He provides valuable insight into the latest research and modeling to ensure that the GreenShipping calculator is as accurate as possible.
Steve Schmidt
Steve founded Marquis Messengers in 1966 and grew it to a large regional distribution company serving Texas, Oklahoma and parts of Arkansas, Louisiana, and New Mexico, selling it in 2003 into what would become Edge Logistics.
He served as President and CEO of Edge Logistics, a large, nation-wide, delivery, distribution, and logistics management company, from its inception in 2004 until 2009. He currently has responsibility for the oversight, coordination and development of all national accounts. Additionally, he has recently spearheaded Edge’s new green sustainability program, which includes a partnership with GreenShipping.com to allow Edge customers an opportunity to offset the carbon footprint of their shipments.
Steve has a BS in Biology from St. Benedict’s College.
